Tottenham transfer target admits desire to play in the Premier League – Spurs considered clear favourites to sign him

Tottenham are being linked with several players ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, with manager Ange Postecoglou hinting at significant changes to the squad.

Among the positions targeted, Spurs are particularly focused on bolstering their defence, specifically seeking a versatile player who can operate as both a centre-back and a left-back.

Recent rumours have linked Tottenham to Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno, a 24-year-old Italian defender known for his versatility in defence.

Despite Buongiorno recently extending his contract with Torino until June 2028, Spurs remain keen on acquiring his services to strengthen their backline.

Tottenham have received a significant boost in their pursuit of the player, with the defender himself expressing his desire to play in the English top flight.

“The Premier League is a league that particularly appeals to me because there are very strong teams and players, with whom I can continue to work and grow.

“However, I also feel good in Italy, so we will see what choices to make in the future.”

But the North London club are not the only ones interested in the defender. It has been reported that they face competition from other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, who are also monitoring the Italy international.

However, as per the report from TEAMtalk, Spurs are considered the clear favourites to land the defender.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Tottenham’s pursuit of Buongiorno reflects their intent to reinforce and bolster their squad under Postecoglou’s leadership, aiming to build a team capable of challenging for the title next season.
